Tanzania Safari & Beach Itinerary:
Day 1: Kilimanjaro – Arusha
Arrive into Kilimanjaro Airport where you will be met and transferred to the Arusha Coffee Lodge where you can spend the first evening relaxing. The lodge was inspired by the grace and romance of a colonial coffee plantation, with accommodation of the highest standard. Famous for its food, the extensive menu features an exciting fusion of traditional Tanzanian cuisine as well as variety of other western specialities. Enjoy an evening meal (included) before some well deserved rest.
Day 2: Arusha – Ngorongoro Crater
In the morning you will be taken to the Arusha Airport for your flight onto the Ngorongoro Crater where you will stay for the next two nights, on full board with drinks included, at the Ngorongoro Crater Lodge. Each suite has a private deck, fireplace, en suite bathroom and exclusive butler service.
Set on the escarpment overlooking the crater, this lodge has magnificent views, and telescopes allow you to gaze down on the wildlife from the deck. During the day you will be taken down into the crater for a full day on the crater floor.
Day 4: Ngorongoro – Serengeti
Moving on from Ngorongoro you will be flown to the Serengeti where you will spend the next 3 nights on full board at Grumeti River Camp with drinks included. The camp is situated in a remote valley in the western corridor of the Serengeti National Park. Each tented suite features a sumptuous bed made of Tanzanian cypress, this is very definitely ‘glamping’ rather than camping! En suite bathrooms offer toilets and alfresco showers open to the sun and stars.
You will spend the next two full days tracking down Africa’s Big 5 game animals either on foot or in a game viewing vehicle.
Day 7: Serengeti -Zanzibar
A final morning’s game drive before you are transferred back to Arusha for the flight to Zanzibar.
You will be met on arrival and taken to your hotel, The Palms, where you will spend the next six nights on full board with house drinks. This idyllic hotel is located on the eastern coast of the island, set amongst the palm trees on white sand beaches. Spend the next few days lazing on the beach or enjoying the water sports on offer such as snorkelling, sailing and scuba diving.
Penultimate day 13 you will be transferred to Stone Town, the capital of Zanzibar. You will have the afternoon to explore the narrow streets and markets before a roof top dinner (included) at your hotel, the exotic 236 Hurumzi where you will spend one night.
On the final day 14 you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Nairobi or Dar es Salaam and your connecting onwards flight home.
