Safari

Out of Africa Travel offers luxury safari holidays in Africa which can be combined with sightseeing, or golfing. The world-famous parks and regions in southern Africa are renowned for their superb wildlife viewing and stunning scenery. There are a number of different styles of safaris, from the wetlands of the Okavango Delta to the harsh arid deserts of Namibia and the bushveld of South Africa.

The lodges and camps are well organised and extremely comfortable, all the modern comforts are combined with the ambience of the traditional safari experience. Our safari holidays can be extended with other stays, such as Cape Town, a beach break or Victoria Falls. Or we can combine different safari styles, such as a water-based safari in the Delta, with a more traditional bushveld or desert safari – each holiday will be tailored to suit you.

For those that need a little beach action we can offer a ‘Bush & Beach’ holidays with time in Southern Africa and a stop en route home at the coast or on the Indian Ocean islands of Mauritius and Zanzibar.

Botswana Safaris
Quite simply, Botswana is one huge game reserve. The most famous attraction of this unspoilt wildlife kingdom is the magnificent Okavango Delta. But Botswana offers much more including the salt pans of the Makgadikgadi, the marshlands of Linyanti, and the vast herds of elephants in Chobe National Park. It can be expensive compared to safaris in other countries, but the emphasis on low-volume tourism means that you can expect the very best safari experience.

Kenya Safaris
Think of a safari holiday and the image most people will conjure up are the open plains of the Masai Mara. These vast savannah lands with their herds of migrating zebra, antelope and wildebeest are where film-makers flock to record the daily struggle to survive amongst the carnivores that prey on the plains animals. The Mara is the must-see destination for most people but there are plenty of smaller reserves with excellent game viewing. To the north, the Samburu, Meru and Laikapia Reserves offer a different style of safari in dryer conditions and to the south the Amboseli reserve is famous for its elephant population. The birthplace of the safari, Kenya is the perfect destination to combine a safari and beach holiday.

Namibia Safaris
With its awe inspiring and desolate beauty, Namibia is captivating, mysterious and quite simply unique. The vast open plains of the Etosha National Park are home to an incredible array of animal, plant and birdlife. In the south west, Damaraland offers even more stunning safari opportunities with rare Desert Adapted elephants and Black rhinos which can be tracked on foot. It is also home to numerous cheetahs, and it is possible to get up close to these magnificent big cats at a number of rehabilitation centres.

South Africa Safaris
You will be spoilt for choice with so many different national parks and game reserves. Choose from tented camps to traditional lodges with stunning vistas across the bushveld and plains. All of the parks we feature have the Big 5 animals, but so much more to offer as well. Madikwe, the Waterberg and the Garden Route reserves have the added bonus of being malaria-free, making them ideal for a family safari.
