Cape Winelands Golf Courses

Some of the world’s finest wines are made in the Cape Winelands. But don’t take our word for it, combine a golfing holiday in South Africa with the opportunity to sample some of the region’s fabulous wines and superb cuisine. With so many golf courses to play, you’ll be able to indulge in the fine wines and 12 course tasting menus with a clear conscience!

The Cape has a number of wine growing valleys, the most famous being Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek. They are all easy to reach and located about an hour’s drive from central Cape Town. In this region alone there are eight good quality golf courses to play. Pearl Valley and Erinvale both feature in the top ranked courses in the country and both have played host to the South African Open Golf Championships.

Just outside of central Stellenbosch, De Zalze Golf Club and Stellenbosch Golf Club sit virtually side by side. The latter has undergone a partial revamp making the back 9 more challenging. The clubhouse restaurant prides itself on an extensive wine list from local estates, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a post-game tipple.

The Cape Winelands courses can easily be reached as a day trip from a hotel base in central Cape Town or you can choose to stay locally in one of the many hotels or B&B’s in the Winelands. There are a number of wine estates that offer accommodation on site, which is a great way to sample the local produce without the need to drive!

We offer a number of golf holiday itineraries that combine a two-centre stay in Cape Town and the Winelands, with a few nights in each and a good variety of different courses to play. We can tailor make an itinerary to suit you.
