Franschhoek, once home to the French Hugenot immigrants, is now the thriving centre of the gastronomic community. Cafés and restaurants line the main street where you can enjoy some of the local specialities- perfect for lunch al fresco. There are a number of ways to explore the wine estates, by car (either self drive or a guided tour); on horse back; by bike, or on foot.
There is even a wine tram that operates in the town which you can buy a hop-on, hop-off ticket for. Talk to our experts about a wine tasting tour – we have plenty of ideas!
The names of Stellenbosch and Paarl are more familiar for their excellent wines that can be bought in the UK store, but are also home to some superb restaurants offering the very highest standards of gourmet cuisine.
