Just a short drive from the bustle of Cape Town, are the fertile valleys which encompass the wine regions. The picture-postcard towns of the Winelands are characterised by their distinctive white washed Cape Dutch style buildings. Accommodation in the Winelands is in smaller, more intimate properties that have been chosen to reflect the traditional hospitality of the region.
Le Quartier Francais is set in cosmopolitan Franschhoek, a bustling gourmet centre with cafe lined streets, and is famous for its restaurants. Mont Rochelle and the lovely Auberge Clermont, are both set in their own extensive grounds, amongst peaceful vineyards. The pace of life in Franschhoek is less frenetic than down town Cape Town, with an emphasis on relaxation, wine and gourmet cuisine.
In Stellenbosch there is a wide variety of hotels and guest houses to choose from, both in the town and on the outskirts. If you prefer to leave the car behind, River Manor and Summerwood Guest House are centrally located so that you can walk to the restaurants and shops in the centre of town.
All the properties offer fantastic facilities, such as spa treatments, swimming pools and beautiful countryside to explore. (Not to mention all that wine tasting on your doorstep!) Golfers are well catered for in this area with many superb courses to choose from, such as Pearl Valley near Franschhoek, and De Zalze Golf Club which is on the outskirts of Stellenbosch.
