Lynton Hall, Holidays in South Africa

Lynton Hall is currently closed as a hotel but remains open as a venue for special events. We will monitor the situation and hope this magnificent property will once more open to  our guests.

A magnificent estate an hour's drive south of Durban, Lynton Hall is the perfect retreat. Awarded the 5 star grading only after four months of opening, this property is one of the finest in the area and is highly recommended as a base for a golfing holiday in KwaZulu Natal

Now in its third century and host to royalty, Prime Ministers, men of letters and captains of business, Lynton Hall was the sanctuary of sugar baron Sir Frank Reynolds. With the whole Empire to choose from, this gracious property was selected by King George VI and his family for his recuperation in 1952. Set in large private gardens, the house is sumptuously furnished and exudes style and colonial decadence.

There are 10 individually decorated rooms including one tower room accessed by a stone spiral staircase. Each room is furnished with warm oriental fabrics and unique pieces of antique furniture. Four poster beds, huge free standing baths combine to make this both luxurious and romantic, guys, you could score serious points booking a stay here!

The Award-winning Restaurant serves sumptuous breakfasts, lunches and dinners either overlooking the beautiful gardens or in the candle lit Dining Hall. The culinary creations of Lynton Hall are inspired by its proximity to the Indian Ocean and the property's traditional connections with Colonial India. Voted by 'Eat Out' Magazine as one of South Africa's Top 10 Restaurants. Alternatively choose to have your breakfast in bed or a snack during the day with room service available most of the day.

Children over 12 are welcome.
