Spring Golf Course News from South Africa

Date: 23-09-2013

The beginning of October sees the start of the spring course maintenance programmes in the Western Cape golf clubs and on the Garden Route golf courses, with most clubs hollow tining either the last weeks of September or early October.

Out of Africa will advise any clients that are affected by hollow tining prior to departure. We will endeavour to arrange itineraries to miss the disruption but should there be no other option, we will try to negotiate a discounted rate for clients or alternative courses if the round has already been booked before we were advised of the hollow tining dates.

The greens will take approximately a week to 10 days to return to normal from the date of the hollow tining.

Other current works that we have been advised of, is some fairly major drainage improvements at Arabella during October and November 2013. The course is playable although there have been a couple of changes to holes 3 and 16, so that 3 now plays as a par 5 and 16 as a par 3. These will revert back once the work has been completed.
